Looking for gifts that give back this year?  Maybe a goat, or a mule, or a clutch of chickens for a needy family? Maybe a basket, a piece of jewelry or artwork that supports a struggling community or group?

If that’s the case, you don’t want to miss Mission Marketplace 2014. The annual event is set this year for Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Family Center, 211 Atlantic, Shreveport, La.
Five churches from three denominations are collaborating to offer the event.  They are Broadmoor and First Presbyterian, Broadmoor United Methodist Church, St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans.  The marketplace will feature Fair Trade items and goods that support causes from around the world. A wide variety of unique, hand made items will be sold, with all proceeds going to promote livable wages for women and to local causes.
