A man involved in a fiery crash in north Caddo Parish earlier this week has died at a local hospital, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Jimmy Clark, 63, of Rodessa, had been receiving treatment at LSU Health Sciences Center where he was airlifted after the crash on Tuesday.  The Caddo Sheriff's Office was notified by the Caddo Coroner's Office today that Clark had died.

Clark was driving a 2007 Corvette northbound on Hwy. 71 at a high rate of speed, according to witnesses, when he side-swiped a southbound dump truck. Clark lost control and veered into the southbound lane where he hit a second vehicle driven by Sue Williams (no d.o.b. available) of Ida. Williams' F-150 pick-up caught fire, and she was pulled from the burning vehicle by passing motorists. She was also airlifted to LSUHSC. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Caddo Sheriff's Traffic Safety Unit.
