Train-SUV Collision Snarls Bossier City Traffic

Traffic in Bossier City was at a standstill for about an hour today while Bossier City police investigated a collision between a freight train and an SUV. It happened at the rail crossing on Beverly Place at Barksdale Boulevard and had every crossing between there and I-20 blocked while police and railroad officials conducted separate investigations. Police say the southbound train clipped the rear passenger side quarter panel of the SUV. The driver was taken to Christus-Schumpert Medical Center to be treated for a minor head injury. She was also cited for failure to yield.
