Tornado Touchdowns Confirmed

The Tuesday night storms did produce tornadoes in our region.  The National Weather Service now confirms 7 tornado touchdowns, so far.  Crews are continuing to assess damage. Two of the tornadoes were quite powerful with winds of over 120 MPH.  One of the towns hit was Frierson and was 1/2 mile wide. The other hit in Marshall, Texas.  Tuesday night, 50 tornado warnings were issued for our region. Other towns confirmed hit by tornado touchdowns: Dubberly, Hall Summit, Benton and Waskom.

Three Bienville Parish schools will remain closed today (Thursday).  Those are: Ringgold High School, Ringgold Elementary School and Gibsland Coleman High School.  At the first two, there are water problems and most of the community of Gibsland is still without power this morning.  Swepco hopes to have all of the power restored today.
