THREE FIRES IN 12-HOUR PERIOD
A busy period for Shreveport firefighters -- with three residential fires in less than twelve hours.
- Fire investigators are probing the cause of a house fire this morning in the six-hundred block of Stephenson. When firefighters got there, just before 8:30, they found light smoke coming from the eves and fire along the living room wall behind the sofa. The homeowner and her dog got out safely.
- About 4:15 this morning, firefighters were called to the La Tierra Apartments -- just off Pines Road. There, they found a small fire in the kitchen -- caused when the occupant fell asleep while cooking. The fire was quickly extinguished, but it took awhile to get the smoke out of a couple of apartments upstairs.
- About 9 o'clock last night, firefighters responded to a house fire in the two-hundred block of Rutherford. There, they found a bedroom engulfed in smoke and flames. It took about twenty minutes to bring that one under control. Nobody was home at the time and the cause is still under investigation.
