This Week’s Louisiana Film Prize Festival, Everything You Need To Know

Louisiana Film Prize kicks off their annual Festival this weekend in the SBC! Here is everything you need to know about the coolest film prize on the planet.

Louisiana Film Prize is in its third year in Shreveport-Bossier. This year's festival kicks off Thursday with Louisiana Music Prize and wraps on Sunday with the ceremony that will make one short filmmaker $50,000 richer.

Thursday, October 9

7:00p Doors Open for the Louisiana Music Prize - Voodoo Cafe – An Art Bar (622 Commerce St.)
8:00p Bands begin playing! A new band each hour.
1:00a The Winner of the Music Prize is announced!

Friday, October 10

12:00p Film Screenings Open - Robinson Film Center, Capri Theater, and Artstation.
4:30p Voting Opens (700 Texas St.)- There’s no way you can have seen all 20 films before this time.
10:15p Last Screening Block for Friday Begins
11:59p Friday Voting Closes

Saturday, October 11

9:00a Screenings Resume - Robinson Film Center, Capri Theater, and Artstation.
9:00a-1:00p Judge Panel Discussions (Artspace, 2nd Floor) – More information coming soon.
11:00a Screenings begin at Bossier Arts Council venue opens in Bossier City.
12:00p Voting Opens for Saturday.
9:30p Last Screening Block for Saturday Begins at the Robinson Film Center.
10:00p The Big Exhale – The LAFP Wind-down party.
12:30a (Zero Dark Thirty, Sunday Morning) All voting Closes

Sunday, October 12

11:00a-2:00p Awards Brunch at artspace with the $50,000 winner and Founder’s Circle recipients announced. VIPs and filmmakers only. Event will be streamed online. Link will be posted Sunday morning.
