The Shreveport-Bossier Mavericks Make the Hirsch Coliseum Their Home
The Hirsch Coliseum once again has a tenant and Shreveport/Bossier once again has a professional sports team.
State Fair General Manager Chris Giordano says a year-long, monthly lease agreement has been signed with the Shreveport/Bossier Mavericks of the American Basketball Association. The Mavericks play their first home game on November 14th. Giordano says, in addition to their games, the Mavericks already have concerts scheduled for the Hirsch in March and April of next year.
The court floor is being resurfaced and re-branded right now, across the street from the Hirsch, and renovations to the coliseum, itself, will be starting soon. Those renovations are expected to take about six weeks to complete.
