From Shreveport to Riverport BBQ it's just a 45-minute trip, if I told you it was a lunch trip you may hate me. However, the drive is so worth it. You hear of so many people ranting and raving about ribs and brisket done right in Kansas City. What if I told you that the best barbecue I ever had was in a small historical town with a population of 2,500. Would you believe it?

Here is the problem with chasing the best brisket within a hundred-mile radius, you have to get to Jefferson, Texas early.

There have been  few times where I have pulled up to eat at Joseph's Riverport BBQ and they looked at me saying "We have some pulled pork available and beans left, other than that we are sold out." So unless you like heartbreak over brisket try to get to the barbecue palace before noon. I am no stranger to delicious barbecue, I think there are a lot of places in Shreveport-Bossier that do a good job when it comes to barbecue. However I wish I could put into words how delicious this barbecue is, but this is one of those, you'll have to find out for yourself things.

Joseph's Riverport Barbecue got a 4.5 out of 5 from Texas Monthly when it comes to barbecue.

See it's not just me that thinks we have a BBQ gold mine down the road from us. Texas Monthly claimed, "This is barbecue that’s on another level from most of what can be found in this part of the state." Well no duh, it's the best barbecue I've had at least.
