A Houston man has pled guilty in federal court to using counterfeit credit cards and other financial access devices to steal thousands of dollars from Louisiana casinos.

31-year-old Derick Caples was accused of getting more than $14,000 in cash advances at the casinos -- including the Horseshoe, Eldorado, and Harrah's Louisiana Downs here in Shreveport/Bossier.

Federal prosecutors say that Caples used fake access devices, starting in November of 2012, to secure cash advances from a number of Louisiana casinos, including some of ours here.  They say he also presented false identification with the credit cards to get the cash advances

Caples faces up to 10 years in prison, three years supervised release, a $250,000 fine and restitution when he's sentenced November 20th.
