Teen Killed in Desoto Parish Crash

Early this morning, a single vehicle crash killed a teen from Stonewall, LA. State Troopers responded to the crash around 3:15 am, which occurred on Linwood Avenue north of LA Hwy 3276.  The crash involved a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by 18-year-old Jacob A. Meshell.  The Pontiac was south bound on Linwood Avenue when Meshell lost control and exited the right side of the roadway.  After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with an embankment and began overturning. Meshell was not wearing his seatbelt and was partially ejected.  He was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol usage is a suspected factor. Routine toxicology tests are pending.  The crash remains under investigation.
