Bossier City Firefighters Local 1051 will hold the 3rd Annual Vernon Gobert Memorial MDA Golf Tournament Monday, April 30th, at Palmetto Country Club in Benton. Cost is $400 per team and all the proceeds go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The tournament will consist of a Four-Man Scramble with shotgun starts at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. It'll also include beverages and prizes for participants and feature a fish fry from 11 to 1. The tournament is held in memory of Bossier City firefighter Vernon Gobert, who passed away in 2007 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Last year's event was a great success and helped Local 1051 earn the MDA's 2011 Golden Boot Award for being the top fundraising fire department in Louisiana. You can find out more or sign up a team by calling Chris Morgan at 294-6168 or Jason Shelton at 469-5101.
