The opening weekend of the State Fair was a good one. General Manager Chris Giordano says more than 3 thousand people came through the gates on Saturday alone. He says the crowds were even bigger on Sunday.
The Fair is closed on Monday and Tuesday, but will be back open on Wednesday.
Special Events Geared Toward Seniors Are Ahead
Area seniors have special days coming up at a couple of big events. Next Thursday is opening day, and Senior Day, at the State Fair of Louisiana. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., residents 50 and older are invited to the event in the Hirsch Coliseum, where they'll get free parking, free admission to the event and free admission to the State Fair midway
