Authorities are investigating a report that a male suspect riding in a pick-up truck fired several gunshots from the moving pickup truck in east Shreveport.

At approximately 1:07 p.m. Tuesday, on July 24, 2012, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the YMCA in the 400 block of McNeill Street relative to a citizen assistance call.  When they got there,  patrolmen met with two witnesses who reported that just minutes earlier they had seen a pick-up truck speeding northbound on Clyde Fant Parkway, just south of I-20 and noticed a person in the pickup was firing a handgun out of the passenger window towards joggers on the jogging trail just east of the parkway.

No one was injured but according to witness accounts, the projectiles struck the ground very near people out for their lunch hour run.

Officers immediately canvassed the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle, described as a white pick-up truck, possibly a 1990’s model Chevrolet Z71.  Please see attached photo of a truck that may look similar.

Detectives are following up on the case and anyone with any information regarding this crime and reports it, may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.  Citizens with knowledge of this shooting suspect are urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or www.lockemup.org.
