Joining 710 KEEL morning duo Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty Friday morning, Louisiana State Treasurer John Kennedy said that Governor John Bel Edwards "wants Louisiana citizens to cut their budgets so Louisiana state government doesn't have to cut its budget."

Commenting on the Governor's threats to cut services to both higher education and health care, Kennedy, also a candidate for the US Senate, said there is plenty of state waste to eliminate:

"Louisiana has 19,000 consultants on the payroll and they charge too much and we don't need all of them."
