Louisiana Economic Development will honor the 2011 Lantern Award winners tonight in a private reception at the Governor's Mansion. The awards are presented each year to honor companies for their excellence in manufacturing and their community involvement. Regional Planning and Development Districts around the state select the winners and this year the winner here in the Northwest Region is Shreveport's Southland Printing Company. Since the Lantern Awards program began in 1979, more than 250 Louisiana manufacturers have been recognized for their accomplishments.
