Six Caddo Schools Could Be Closed Under ‘Reinvest in Caddo’ Plan [VIDEO]
Six Caddo Parish Schools would close under a plan presented by Superintendent Lamar Goree.
It's a $108 million package to reallocate existing tax money. The schools on the chopping block are:
Barret Paideia Academy
E.B. Williams-Stoner Hill Elementary
Alexander Learning Center
The parish would save $1.5 million a year in maintenance and utility costs.
There is some good news with this reinvestment plan. 3 new schools would be built.
One would be in the Blanchard area, another in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood and the third in southeast Shreveport.
3 other schools would get new wings, gyms or activity centers.
If the school board ok's it, the plan would go to the voters in May.
