Six Caddo Parish Schools would close under a plan presented by Superintendent Lamar Goree.

It's a $108 million package to reallocate existing tax money. The schools on the chopping block are:

Barret Paideia Academy

Creswell Elementary

E.B. Williams-Stoner Hill Elementary

Blanchard Elementary

Timmons Elementary

Alexander Learning Center

The parish would save $1.5 million a year in maintenance and utility costs.

There is some good news with this reinvestment plan.  3 new schools would be built.

One would be in the Blanchard area, another in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood and the third in southeast Shreveport.

3 other schools would get new wings, gyms or activity centers.

If the school board ok's it, the plan would go to the voters in May.
