The Sigma Chi fraternity at LSU in Baton Rouge has been closed amid drug and hazing accusations.

Sigma Chi International announced the closing on its website Friday. LSU suspended the fraternity in October for alleged violations of drug and hazing policies.

Sigma Chi International will maintain a relationship with LSU and plans to bring the chapter back once the current members have graduated. The statement said fraternity leaders were working to address conduct issues, but that they "were not living up to Sigma Chi's high ideals".
