As the water continues to rise on the Red River, SPAR officials have closed the dog park at Clyde Fant and Stoner.

DOG-PARK

A small part of the park is under water and the water continues to rise. The gate to the park has been locked. No idea yet how long the park will be closed. But it will take some time for the water to recede. Once it does, SPAR will likely have to do some minimal cleanup before the park can reopen for the pups.

Last year, the dog park was closed from early May through the end of July because of high water. The park was also closed during all of January last year because of high water at the end of 2018.

The dog park opened on July 14th, 2017, but it has been closed several times because of high water.

If you spot a problem at the park, you are encouraged to report it to shelly.ragle@shreveportla.gov or call 318-673-SPAR or message SPAR on Facebook.
