Shreveport’s Centenary College Partners with Oxford University
Centenary College's Frost Business School has launched its 2050 Fellows Program, playing host to leaders from around the Shreveport-Bossier area.
Dean Christopher Martin says the two-day conference was led by Dr. Angela Wilkinson, who holds joint appointments in Oxford's Schools of Business and Enterprise and the Environment.
Some 60 people took part in the workshops to learn how to identify changes that may influence our future and work to develop solutions to thwart any downturns that may affect the economy.
Dr. Martin told KEEL News sometimes we're focused on the most positive vision for the future and we don't realize many things can become roadblocks. This conference is to help create problem solving skills to counter that.
Learning what the future economic climate might be and protecting it was one of the issues discussed during the seminar. The 2050 Fellows Program was held in conjunction with Oxford University.
Workshops were held to engage leaders in coming up with ideas for handling potential future problems.
Dr. Martin says this was the first of its kind seminar at Centenary, and educators intend on extending the dialogue for future economic progress to the community.
