SHREVEPORT, LA-  Shreveport Woman Arrested for Battery of a Police Officer

At approximately 11:55 p.m. on May 5, officers responded to a call of domestic trouble at a residence in the 1700 block of Peach Street. Upon arrival, officers encountered a female, identified as 19-year-old Brandejah Thomas, who appeared to be extremely intoxicated and was reportedly screaming at the occupants of the residence.

As officers attempted to de-escalate the situation, the woman became aggressive and attacked them, hitting and kicking them before being subdued and taken into custody. Fortunately, the officers involved maintained their composure and did not sustain any major injuries.

Brandejah Thomas has been arrested and is facing charges including one count of interfering with a police investigation, one count of resisting an officer, and one count of battery of a police officer.

The Shreveport Police officials issued a statement saying: The safety and well-being of our officers is of utmost importance, and any act of violence against them will not be tolerated. We commend the professionalism and restraint shown by the officers involved in this incident.

Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
