Shreveport Police Recruits Can’t Cut It

15 police recruits started at the Academy in March, but that number has dwindled to just 10.

Instructors say the Academy is quite strenuous and many cadets simply can't handle it. Another class begins in July and the Department is hoping to find at least 30 people willing to give it a try. It's a 16 week training session that includes classroom time along with the physical training necessary to become a police officer.
