A Shreveport police officer is in jail on a criminal complaint -- after the police department received information that he was possibly involved in the theft of some prescription medication.  The department was told in mid-March that 44-year-old Kevin Perry took the drugs when he was working an off-duty job at Broadmoor Middle Laboratory School.  That's when detectives started checking into the allegations.

Investigators got an arrest warrant charging Perry with misdemeanor theft and malfeasance in office.  He surrendered to Caddo Correctional Center and was booked on the charges.

Perry has been on paid administrative leave since the allegations surfaced, and will stay that way for about another week.  He's been with the department since November of 1990.
