Shreveport Police Confirm Identities in Double Shooting [Photos]
Shreveport Police have confirmed the identity of a suspect in the shooting death of one man and serious wounding of another.
Early this morning, KEEL News responded to the crime scene in West Shreveport at the LaTierra Drive Apartments, and learned that 26-year-old Jonathan Simo allegedly had been gunned down by 22-year-old Laquinn Murray. Simo lay dead in the parking lot of the apartments. Simo's friend, 18-year-old Devonne Marshall, was also shot multiple times and is in serious condition at LSU Health.
A neighbor on the scene told KEEL Simo had been arguing with Murray's sister, who was a stripper, and that apparently made Murray angry. The neighbor, Shanara Anderson, said she had been babysitting Simo's two-year-old son when she got the call that he had been killed.
She said Murray lived down the street from the apartments and they all knew each other.
Witnesses told police Murray drove up in an SUV and opened fire striking Marshall first, and then Simo.
Murray was arrested and has been charged with one count of second degree murder and a single count of attempted second degree murder.
