Shreveport Mayoral Candidate Ollie Tyler joined us on KEEL today to talk about her candidacy.

With just a few months to go before Shreveport voters choose a new Mayor, one of the leading candidates joined us to discuss some of her plans.

Ollie Tyler tells KEEL News one of her top priorities will be to address the ailing infrastructure in Shreveport. While she didn't get into specifics, she said we have "many issues to resolve."

Tyler was quick to point out that she does not want to lay blame on any prior administration, but she plans to get to work to find ways to solve many of the problems.Tyler has served as Caddo Parish Education Superintendent and also as the interim director of the state Education Department. So why does this 69-year-old woman want to be mayor? She tells us "I feel called to serve."
