Shreveport police have arrested a man who allegedly injured a baby earlier this month. On September 9th, detectives were called to Schumpert Hospital to a report of an infant patient there suffering from serious head injuries. Investigators learned that the two-month-old boy had been brought to the hospital suffering from skull fractures -- and the man who brought him in, 29-year-old Tyrell Tousant -- told them he had fallen while carrying the baby. Officials with the Child Welfare Office were notified and detectives began investigating. They determined that the child's injuries were inconsistent with those that might occur during a fall, so they arrested Tousant last evening. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.
