A Shreveport firefighter is arrested in the wake of an ongoing investigation into alleged criminal misconduct.

Police say 32-year-old Skylo Johnson, a 7-year veteran of the fire department, was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with a woman, during which the woman suffered injuries.

The incident is believed to have happened at Johnson's home some time between Sunday, November 1, and Wednesday, November 4, while the two were involved in a verbal dispute.

Detectives launched an investigation, and obtained an arrest warrant charging Johnson with one count of domestic abuse battery with strangulation. He turned himself in at police headquarters.

Shreveport Fire Chief Scott Wolverton has placed Johnson on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
