Shawn Custis Arrested in the Nanny Cam Mom Beating

Shawn Custis, the suspect recorded by a nanny camera while beating a young mother in her New Jersey home while her 3-year-old daughter watched from a sofa, was arrested Friday afternoon in Manhattan.

Custis has been charged with attempted murder, robbery, burglary and child endangerment. He is in custody and being held in lieu of $750,000 bail.

During the attack the young unidentified mother suffered a concussion, broken teeth and damage to her face that required stitches. She was robbed of jewelry and other items including her wedding rings.

Custis was just released from prison 6 month ago after serving 10 months for several burglaries in New Jersey. The nanny cam recorded him kicking and punching the woman, then throwing her down the stairs into the basement.
