Shreveport Senator Greg Tarver is dipping his political toe in the Mayor's race by saying he does not support Adrian Perkins. Tarver tells KEEL News he originally supported Perkins, but that changed after he started learning the truth about Perkins.

Tarver did tell us Perkins did date his daughter at one time, but that has nothing to do with this. "It's about your responsibility to vote".  "He lied to me and if he lied to me about one thing, what else has he lied to me about." Tarver went on to say "we don't know anything about this guy."

As to who he plans to support in the Mayor's race, Tarver says "This city is in trouble. But we need someone who loves the city of Shreveport who will be here and who will devote their life to this city. This is one of the most tough decisions I've ever had to make in my life."

Tarver says Shreveport, if it continues going the way it's going, it's going to be a Detroit in 5 to 7 years. Tarver says he has not made up his mind about who he is going to vote for in the race.

KEEL News reached out to Adrian Perkins and he told us "I'm not entertaining Greg. He has nothing to do with my campaign. He knows numbers and politics and understands what's about to happen. Greg is upset at the fact that he's going to have "0" influence over City Hall. Since his interview on KEEL, I've actually had someone contact me about picking up a check because now they are convinced he is not supporting me."
