Seaton claims the sex he had with an 18-year-old woman after the 2010 Independence Bowl was consensual. His lawyer says prosecutors even offered to drop the rape charge against him if he would plead guilty to abuse of office, which Seaton would not do.

Seaton's attorney will present his case today to an appeals court panel.

Seaton is currently serving an 18-year prison sentence.
