Red River Balloon Rally Coming In Mid-July

The annual Red River Balloon Rally will be here before you know it, coming up Wednesday through Friday, July 15 to 17. And this year brings added excitement with the US National Hot Air Balloon Championship being held the same days.

Fans attending the event on the soccer fields on the LSUS campus will see 40 hot air balloons all glowing in the evening sky! Tethered balloon rides, kid's activities, food vendors and craft vendors will also be featured.. Friday evening, Christian music artists Citizen, Phil Wickham and Rend Collective will play. On Saturday, Southern Roots and country artists Thompson Square will take the stage. Admission is only $10 for adults and $8 for military and kids.

The hot air balloon competition will begin Saturday and Sunday mornings starting at 6:30 with competing pilots flying their balloons to the LSUS field, trying to land on designated targets. There is no admission fee for watching the early morning competitions.
