There's plenty to do around town this weekend...including something fun AND educational. It's called "Kiwanis One-Day & Read-Around-the-World" -- and it's going on at Sheriff's Safety Town on Jewella tomorrow from 10 a.m. til 2 p.m. It's geared primarily towards elementary school-aged children. Volunteers will read books to them at each of the building's facades. Every 15 minutes, groups will rotate to different areas, where the kids will hear new stories. The event is free, and each of the first 150 or so participants will receive a free book, and picnic lunches will be provided to as many participants as possible. Tours of Safety Town will also be conducted.
