The Red River Waterway Commission has temporarily closed public boat launches on the Red River due to high water.

This includes Teague Parkway in Bossier City, Stoner Avenue in Shreveport, and the North Caddo-Bossier facility at the Hwy 2 bridge between Plain Dealing and Hosston.

RRWC officials say rainfall in the Red River watershed has resulted in a minor rise on the river in the Shreveport-Bossier area. Launching a boat into the river without the use of a dock is not recommended.

If you want to access the river, you're advised to contact the private marinas for current launching conditions. Boat ramps will re-open as soon as the commission deems conditions safe.

For more information, call 318-352-7446 or visit the RRWC website.
