A recently completed Gallup poll finds that President Barack Obama is the most polarizing President in history...or at least since the company started tracking approval ratings more than 50 years ago.

Gallup's survey showed that the gap between the party of the President and the opposition party is greater for the Obama Presidency - 70% - than any other Chief Executive

According to Gallup, here are, in order, the five most polarizing Presidents since the early 1950s:

1) Barack Obama - Republican Approval 13%, Democrat Approval 83%, Gap 70%

2) George W Bush - Republican Approval 84%, Democrat Approval 23%, Gap 61%

3) Bill Clinton - Republican Approval 26%, Democrat Approval 82%, Gap 56%

4) George HW Bush - Republican Approval 82%, Democrat Approval 44%, Gap 38%

5) Ronald Reagan - Republican Approval 83%, Democrat Approval 31%, Gap 52%
