Police Urge Motorists to Slow Down in School Zones

Through the end of March, Shreveport police have written more than 1,100 citations for various offenses in school zones across the city. Spokesman Bill Goodin says this number is up when compared to previous years. Goodin says officers with the department’s Traffic Bureau, as well as Community Liaison Officers and and patrol officers, monitor school zones every day to make sure motorists are obeying the speed limit.
