Police Looking for Gunman in West Shreveport Shooting

Police are investigating a shooting in west Shreveport that left a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound. When officers arrived at the intersection of Alabama Avenue and Catherine Street, they found Sherman Fredieu with a gunshot wound to the lower right leg. He told a patrolman that a man he knew fired several shots at him on Judson Street, and one of them hit him. He was taken to LSU Hospital with a non-life-threatening wound. Detectives are working to positively identify and locate the gunman, who -- as it turns out -- is a relative of Fredieu's. If you have information that could help them, call police or Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers.
