Northwestern Students Inducted into Honor Society

Twenty five Northwestern State University students were recently inducted into Eta Sigma Phi Honor Society, the national honorary collegiate society for students of Latin and/or Greek. Members are elected by local chapters which have been chartered by the society.

The purposes of the Society, in the words of the Constitution, are “to develop and promote interest in classical study among the students of colleges and universities; to promote closer fraternal relationship among students who are interested in classical study, including inter-campus relationship; to engage generally in an effort to stimulate interest in classical study, and in the history, art, and literature of ancient Greece and Rome.”

Those inducted were Janell Parfait of Houma, Alanna Hailey of Jena, Bradley Smith and Victoria Smith of DeRidder, Laura Johnson of Arnaudville,Jules Guidry of Breaux Bridge, Hailey Suarez and John-Henry Voss of Sulphur, Katie Acosta of Thibodaux, Kristen Richardson of Kaplan, Taylor Nelson of Monroe, Kristen Hadley of Burleson, Texas, and Memrie Gibbons of New Boston, Texas.

Also inducted were Stephen Bundrick of Haughton, Jonathan Bordelon of Moreauville, Jarred Roberts of Kaplan, Jackson Harmeyer and Aaron McConnell of Alexandria, David Hogan of Hammond, Lauren Erskins of Dodson, Ellie Spain of Lafayette, Tchissakid (T-Dre) Player of Cedar Hill, Texas; Daniel Feltz of Hewitt, Texas; Clayton Carr of Natchitoches and Christopher Degeyter of Lafayette.
