District-38 State Senator Sherry Cheek is being challenged by Douglas Day of Shreveport and Troy Terrell of Mansfield. District-39 Senator Lydia Jackson also faces opposition -- and not just from former Senator Greg Tarver. Jim Slagle of Vivian has also entered that race. On the House side, District-2 Representative Roy Burrell is being challenged by Raymond Hicks. In District-3, Ernest Baylor, Lynn Cawthorne, and Anna Marie Arpino of Bossier City are all challenging representative Barbara Norton.
