North DeSoto Basketball Coach Arrested For Bad Behavior With Student, Bad Checks

The North DeSoto High School boys' basketball coach was arrested on Thursday on charges related to inappropriate behavior with a 14-year-old female student.

Robert Bender was arrested at the school.  The 46-year-old has been employed since August 2007, but submitted his resignation last month.  The superintendent said he would be free to leave at the end of the school year.

He was booked into the DeSoto Parish Detention Center on a charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile and on a warrant for issuing worthless checks.
