The new state law dealing with school bus laws could be put on hold until next school year.
State Representative Henry Burns of Haughton tells KEEL News the new law is set to go into effect on August 1, but "the process of an implementation plan for the Parish, is not specified according to the Attorney General's first look, which needs clarifying & might provide the necessary wiggle room for further clarification."

The new law has a lot of educators concerned. The law prohibits bus drivers from picking up or dropping off students in locations where they would have to cross traffic lanes.
