[UPDATE]  The motorcyclist who died in Sunday morning's Clyde Fant Parkway crash has been identified as 23-year-old Derrick M. Hall. Shreveport police continue to investigate what caused the wreck.

[ORIGINAL STORY] An early-morning wreck between a motorcycle and a sedan ends tragically.

It happened just after midnight Sunday, June 15. A witness says an adult male was headed south on Clyde Fant Parkway on his 2004 Suzuki motorcycle, when a Hyundai Accent driven by 24-year-old Janee Clay allegedly pulled into his path.

The motorcycle crashed into the driver's side of Clay's vehicle, and the rider was pronounced dead at the scene by Shreveport Fire Department personnel. Clay wasn't seriously injured, but was taken to an area hospital for standard toxicology testing.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, but investigators believe speed may have been a major factor. The victim's name is being withheld until family can be notified.
