Shreveport police have charged a man with a shooting in downtown Shreveport that left another man hospitalized.

Just after 2 a.m. on November 3, 2014, patrol officers were called out to the 400 block of Commerce Street to a report of shots being fired in the area. When they arrived, they found 25-year-old Malcolm Perry lying in a nearby parking lot. He'd been shot several times.

Perry was taken to University Health with non-life-threatening wounds. He was able to give police a description of the vehicle the alleged shooter was driving.

Police found a car fitting the description and pulled it over. The driver, 26-year-old Michael Falcon, was taken to police headquarters, where he was interviewed by investigators. Then he was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on an attempted second-degree murder charge.

Detectives are still investigating.
