After a stellar performance Saturday night against New Mexico State, LSU freshman Brandon Harris has been named the starting quarterback for this weekend's game against Auburn.

'It stands to reason that Brandon will get the first snaps in the game', said coach Les Miles, referring to Harris leading the Bengals to seven consecutive touchdown drives against the undermanned Aggies.

Miles has previously hesitated to name Harris as the starter, saying he wanted to make the announcement to the team before making his choice public.

Harris, a graduate of Bossier City's Parkway High School, replaces senior Anthony Jennings, who started the Tigers (4-1) first five games.
