A public-private partnership between the Biomedical Research Foundation and LSU hospitals in Shreveport and Monroe is a step closer.

The LSU Board of Supervisors has approved a Memorandum of Understanding to begin the process of negotiating an agreement for the foundation to manage and operate LSU Health Shreveport and E-A Conway Medical Center in Monroe.  The foundation would also operate clinics associated with the hospitals but not the LSU Medical School.  That would remain under the LSU System.  How long it will take to negotiate an agreement between the foundation and the hospitals is anybody's guess but, at this point, the ball is rolling in that direction.
