Sarepta native Trace Adkins made his hometown proud this week, gaining entry into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.

Adkins was in Baton Rouge for a show at Dixie Landin' Saturday, June 21 when he was officially inducted by Mike Shepherd, president and executive director of the Louisiana Hall of Fame.

It was all a bit of a surprise for Adkins, who wasn't aware of the organization's plans to honor him.

Surprisingly, the country star has stayed mum on social media about the honor. We'll just chalk that up to the whole 'being busy touring' thing!

And speaking of touring, the "Arlington" singer will be playing live in Sarepta, Louisiana July 5 at the Muddy Bottoms ATV and Recreation Park's "Muddin' for the Military" event. We expect his hometown will make it a night to remember for Adkins, who is already riding high.

Congratulations, Trace! Way to make Louisiana proud.
