A 62-year-old Shreveport woman has been arrested and booked into Caddo Correctional Center on a charge of Felony theft.

Shirley Yates is accused of giving herself a pay raise without the boss’s permission.  Sheriff’s detective Bobby Herring says Yates worked as a bookkeeper for a local construction company and, apparently, manipulated the payroll to give herself pay increases and unauthorized advances.  The $37,326 theft was discovered by a company accountant who thought it was suspicious that Yates was the only employee of the company to recieve a raise.
