Bobby Carney and Philip Maxfield from LifeShare Blood Center, talk with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the need for blood donations, as they anticipate the annual summertime demand.

"We're in a critical situation right now with our blood supply and our hospitals," says Carney, "We need to get the word out to folks that we need your blood."

Carney then describes the common situations that call for blood transfusions including surgeries, chemo or radiation therapy, sickle cell anemia and others and that most common transfusions can use up to 100 units or more of blood.

LifeShare Blood Center has two local locations, at 8910 Linwood Avenue in Shreveport and 1523 Doctors Drive in Bossier City. For complete information about LifeShare Blood Center and blood donations, JUST CLICK HERE!
