Kenneth Dewayne Smith Jr. of Coushatta Captured, Charged with Attempted Murder in Natchitoches

A man wanted for an attempted murder in Natchitoches, Louisiana is locked up today.

30-year-old Kenneth Dewayne Smith Jr., of Coushatta was caught by Red River Parish Sheriff’s deputies on Meeks Road.

He was arrested without incident Smith is charged with first degree attempted murder after an early Sunday morning shooting near the Fairview Alpha community in Natchitoches Parish.

Deputies were called to a shooting on a logging road in the rural area. Deputies said the shooting victim was taken to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
