It's not an April Fool's Day joke. Sadly, the rumors are true. Pancho's Mexican Restaurant in Bossier City, an Ark-La-Tex institution since the mid 1960s, closed its doors this past weekend.

Pancho's was one of the first restaurants we visited when my we moved here in 1967 and it remained one of my family's favorite spots through the years.

But, sadly, like so many other local eateries -- Sansone's, Abe's, Brocato's and Don's to name a few -- Pancho's has become a memory, albeit a wonderful one for thousands of folks in the Shreveport - Bossier area.
