Art Carmody, Chairman of the 2019 Walk Ons Independence Bowl, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright about this year's game and plans for the future, including the search for a new title sponsor.

Carmody tells KEEL listeners that this year's game was one of the most successful in recent history. "Everything went well," the Chairman said. "The tailgate went well, we had a great game, the teams were happy, the weather cooperated and we got the fans."

This year's game, featuring Louisiana Tech and University of Miami, had an attendance of more than 33,000.

In addition, this year's game, broadcast on ESPN, had an audience of 2.6 million viewers, up 32% from the 2018 contest.

Carmody adds that the search for a new title sponsor continues, with ongoing discussions with a number of major companies / corporations. He adds that Walk-Ons, bowing out as title sponsor, has committed their help in the search for a replacement.
