I-20 Traffic Stop Leads to Hidden Marijuana

A traffic stop on I-20 in Bienville Parish has led to a drug bust by State Police.  

A trooper pulled over a 2006 Chevy Impala on I-20 eastbound -- just west of Arcadia, near mile marker 60.  The trooper asked the driver, 24-year-old Jamar Harris of Cleveland, MS, for permission to search the car and Harris consented.  During a search, troopers found about 3 pounds of marijuana and $1900 in cash hidden in the car.

Harris was arrested on charges of following too close, possessing marijuana with intent to distribute, and conspiracy to distribute marijuana.  A passenger in the car, 23-year-old Arsenio Nelson of Cleveland, MS, was also arrested on the same two drug charges. Both were booked into the Bienville Parish Jail.
